Hi, I'm Rebecca!I am a graduate of Northwestern University with a degree in Vocal Performance and Musical Theatre. I have been singing for as long as I can remember. As my mom puts it, I was singing before I learned to speak. At a fairly young age, I developed an all-encompassing love for singing in many ways, including classical, musical theatre, and pop styles. My appetite for music grew from there as I took up piano lessons and continued them throughout my schooling.
Shortly after graduating college, I moved to New York City and started a career in musical theatre. I have since performed in Manhattan, around the country, and on cruise ships. In 2019, I headlined a solo show at the Laurie Beechman Theatre in Manhattan that was reviewed by BroadwayWorld.com. As a teacher, I believe I should always be learning as well. Currently, I am becoming certified with Estill Voice Training- studying the science behind the voice and how to apply it to create the most healthy, supported, and powerful sounds. Whether you’re starting your musical journey or continuing it, I look forward to meeting you! |
Here's a glimpse into a lesson with me... |
I approach every lesson first and foremost with the goal to have fun.
I want everyone to feel comfortable and let's face it- we all learn better if we're enjoying ourselves! I get to know each student and their interest and goals. In this way, we can work together to choose the direction we would like to go in. All my students learn many different styles of music and get to help me choose their repertoire. On top of this, I work to ensure that each student has a great foundation of music theory, sight-reading, musical expression and more. I would love to talk with you about all the possibilities! |
